Callaway Gardens - Awesome! My wife and I have a year round pass that only costs about $100 for a car pass - you can bring 5 others with you. With it you can enjoy the gardens, beaches, butterfly center, birds of prey shows, walking and bike trails, and a multitude of other activities. We also attend their annual events like the Sky High Hot Air Balloon Festival, Masters Ski Tournament, 4th of July celebration on the beach,  and Fantasy in Lights at Christmas.   I highly recomend Callaway!   Located at Pine Mountain about 30 miles north of Columbus.

Coca Cola Space Science Center - Simulated space missions and the Omnisphere theatre with laser light shows are highlights of this experience. This is a great place to take your kids and adults will have a good time as well. The inventor of Coca Cola was from Columbus and this is a fitting addition to our city. 701 Front Ave. Columbus Ga 31901 706-649-1470

Oxbow Meadows - Great nature trip! They actually have a suspension bridge that travels through the tops of the trees giving you a birds eye view of nature. The Creek Indians used this as their home in days gone past. Located on the Chattahoochee river at 3491 S. Lumpkin Rd. Columbus GA 31903 706-687-4090

Port Columbus Civil War Naval Museum - Two Civil War battle ships are stationed here along with a lot of other interesting artifacts. Located along the River Walk at 1002 Victory Dr. Columbus Ga 31902 706-327-9798

River Walk - 14 miles along the Chattahoochee River - Beautiful brick walk that extends all the way down to the north side of Fort Benning from downtown Columbus - ending at Oxbow Meadows

National Infantry Museum
The new $85 million Infantry museum has broken ground and should be completed in about mid 2008. It will sport a 3-D IMAX theatre among other important artifacts and historical information including a Bradley Tank. Read more on our infantry museum page.
