Whether you are in the armed forces or marrying someone who is, Fort Benning is a beautiful place to host your guests and vow your love to one another. Full of rich history and unique sites, Fort Benning would be perfect for your wedding whether big or small. Below is a short background and description of a few of the venue options at Fort Benning.
The Infantry Chapel
The Infantry Chapel was dedicated in 1934 to four chaplains who gave their lives in World War II. As a torpedo hit their ship, the chaplains gave their life preserves to others. This beautiful chapel is also considered the main post chapel. With a stunning high dome, a spiral staircase, soft beige colored walls, and ornate molding this chapel would be the perfect backdrop for any wedding. Outside, is a lush green lawn with plenty of room for an outdoor tent reception.
The National Infantry Museum and Soldier Center
The National Infantry Museum and Soldier Center may seem like an unconventional place to hold your nuptials, but there is a chapel that can hold up to 120 people for an intimate wedding and two dining halls to host your reception. The Grand Hall is located under the “Last 100 Years” ramp which displays artifacts including helicopters and Bradley Fighting Vehicles and can comfortably hold up to 700 guests for a reception. The Colonial Room is a private dining room with a view of the parade field and Heritage Walk and can seat approximately 50 guests for an intimate reception or rehearsal dinner.
The Benning Conference Center
The Benning Conference Center formerly known as The Benning Club and The Officers Club has several ballrooms to choose from to host your event whether large or small. A large staff is there to help you coordinate your event including on-site catering. Located in the heart of Fort Benning it presents a beautiful setting for your event with ample parking to accommodate a large reception, ballrooms large enough for dinner and dancing, and a beautiful entrance for your guests.
